Mendocino English Country Dance

All are invited to a free English Country Dance workshop with world renowned guest caller Kalia Kliban. Kalia’s clear and pleasant presentation of the dances will lead us through the basics, and complexities, of English Country Dance, using music recorded by excellent ECD musicians.
Since the mid-1980s Kalia has been part of the vibrant Bay Area traditional dance community. While it was Irish ceilidh dancing at the Starry Plough pub in Berkeley, CA that first drew her in, at one time or another she has performed or taught Morris dancing, Longsword, Rapper sword dancing, English and American clogging, and has called for English Country, Contra, and family dances.
Workshop 2:00–3:30. Doors open at 1:30 so you can be ready to dance at 2:00.
Join us later, 7:30–10:00, for our regular monthly English Country Dance evening with Kalia, and Take a Dance, our long-time house band.
